Everyone has a dream, some dream bigger than others. However big you dream is however you must remember this one thing - "the bigger you dream the harder you must work". success isnt going to magically come knocking on your door, you have to go out there and put yourself in the position where when success does knock you can be the one opening it. #longpost I set myself a goal today. To run 30km in under 3hours. I have never run more than 21km which I did only a month ago. I felt like I needed to test my limits as I was becoming lazy and not feeling like I was on the right path to successfully finish the marathon I signed myself up for in May. Maybe it was silly to run such a long distance because of recovery time, but for me right now, it was necessary. I've been so busy these last few weeks and today was the first day I had some time. I decided to use every last second of it to put myself to work, and push myself in some form. Running for me is about proving that I can work, and push myself out of my comfort zone, it gets me up in the morning and it reminds me to keep moving forward. It is more personal than anything else to me, I do it for myself. After the 12km mark I was actually feeling really confident, like I should attempt a full marathon then and there. After the 15th I decided to turn back as I could tell I was getting tired. After the 22nd that's when it hit me. I felt that feeling I yearned for. The feeling of my legs starting to shut down. The feeling of my brain trying to convince me of excuses and reasons to stop. The pain that makes you feel like every step is a struggle and an effort. I had to stop several times and walk which only made it become harder and harder for me to startup again. But I needed to continue because my pace was going from 5'30" per km to close to 5'45" very fast and I still had ~5km to go. It was a battle.
But in the end I finished the 30km, and collapsed.. 🏃 30.07km in 2:58:54 at a pace of 5'57". 🏃
I cannot wait for the full marathon in May, and the journey I will endure getting to it. Today was a success, let's see what tomorrow will reveal. 📷 @jaxsnyman ❤
If you been living under a rock like Me and feel like @watchmeamazon or @reezyresells and other awesome people like @hustleathomemom or @theecomhustle are speaking Mandarin and are light years away from where you are... this is the next step after a dictionary you can check out (or google). I had to take this 20 minute read and found that for the total newbie that has the most basic questions like me, made some of their content easier to digest.
