Some of you may have used or are familiar with the popular chalkboard paint (not to be confused with chalk paint)... Well, I've had bad experiences with it, so for Nash's room we used the chalkboard panels from @homedepot to achieve a cleaner look. They can be wiped down really easy and I don't have to deal with ghost lines or odd lumps. You can see a mini tutorial on this by Spencer a few posts back!
When your sick little boy falls asleep naked bum on your bed after a warm bath, it's funny how waking him to put a diaper on so he doesn't pee on your mattress isn't even a thought. On a regular day I try to keep stickies and stinkies off the bed to keep it nice, but watching the comfortably sleeping rise and fall of my babies feverish back is the only important thing. I wish I could hold on to that feeling more, not worry about the messes and spills as much as I do (if you've seen my house, you know it is not something I care much about anyhow) but I always have the feeling, what would others think if they saw this house? I do think some order is important, keeping your surroundings free of chaos can put a mind more at ease. When there is chaos, I know my parenting changes, my worries become superficial, and there is a less magic in the house. Keeping that magic throughout the chaos is so important. I am feeling grateful for this sick filled day because all the superficial disappears in the smallest moment and the only things that matter are the feelings of my kids, and that really is the most important thing ✨
Happy Family Day Canada! Today I spent the day doing touch ups at our new house with my two favorite people. Khang is currently working on building a custom closet for the master bedroom that will be 80% mine and 20% his (bless his sweet heart! 😇) It was hard to get any work done because Khang and I kept getting distracted playing with Scar. Super excited that our soon to be home is coming together nicely after almost 2 years of headaches 😄. Scarlett loves it everytime we go up there because there's always new things to see and do - and I'm pretty sure she knows she's the queen of the castle by now. How did everyone spend their Family Day? 👪💕
Not all sharks are scary! Despite a tough night the other day we seem to be getting through this #sleepregression . Talking about what we did and how we survived on the blog! (Link in bio 😊😊) Btw, I really just wanted an excuse to share this photo because I had too much fun dressing him up lol #crazymom#babyshark
There's a really great blog post today on "Becoming Minimalist" that speaks about why kids need minimalism now more than ever. Here's an excerpt: "Minimalism isn’t just about getting rid of all your stuff (although I have done some of that too–and it’s pretty amazing). It’s about focusing your family on what really matters in life.
Joshua defines minimalism as “the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of everything that distracts us from it.” In raising my kids as minimalists, I am doing just that.
I am trading the status quo of American childhood by choosing a specific value set for my children. ". Becoming Minimalist is my favorite blog - full of inspiration and wisdom. 🙌🏻 www.becomingminimalist.com @joshua_becker #minimalistkids#minimalism#simplify#letthembelittle#wildandfreekids#childhoodunplugged
