To the JEALOUS girl,
To the INSECURE girl,
To the TERRITORIAL girl,
Cut off the stream of crap.
Yes, I said it.
The crap in your mind.
Let me explain.
This used to make me feel embarrassed, ashamed, and stubborn to admit... you know, feeling JEALOUS.
No one wants to be a jealous person.
It's not a flattering characteristic.
Well, to me anyway.
I've shared this before, but let me refresh you. When I first started dating Erik, it was before my transformation.
I hated working out.
I wasn't living a healthy lifestyle.
In fact, Erik and I had been best friends for a long time before we dated, so he knew my habits weren't the best.
Hey, he knew what he was getting himself into with dating me. Ha.
I would let my thoughts FREAK me out.
FREAK ME OUT.
What you choose to focus on becomes your reality. This couldn't be more true.
I remember when we were in public, I immediately would scan the room for the girls that were (what I thought) better looking than me. Then, I would instantly watch Erik's eyes to see if his gazed toward those girls I was (not-so-admittedly) jealous of... let's be real, girls can be super territorial.
I wish we weren't, but we really can be.
I don't even remember the last time I've done that. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I've felt that way. (Thankfully, God has worked so much on my heart!) I know it's 100% due to the fact that I became aware of my insecurities and replaced those negative thoughts with empowering ones.
I changed my mindset.
I work on it daily.
I'm honest about my thoughts and feelings.
So, shut up, JEALOUSLY, no ones needs you.
Can I get a "HECK YEAH!?"
