WHO MADE YOUR CLOTHES? ||Why are wages for garment workers so low? ◾The apparel industry has helped some people become extremely wealthy while virtually enslaving others. ◾ Six of the world's richest people run companies that sell huge volumes of clothing. But, tens of millions of people are employed by the process of making clothes and do not earn enough to pay for life's basic necessities. ◾As consumers we have power. We are drivers of trends and everytime we buy something we're voting with our wallet. When we speak, brands listen. ◾ As consumers we need to know who makes our clothes and under what conditions. Otherwise we're effectively and unwittingly contributing to the exploitation of others. ◾We need to be smarter than the false messages we are fed that tell us that we 'need' to keep up with the latest trends. ◾It's time to break our addiction for speed and volume. ◾ Extract from @fash_rev Money Fashion Power fanzine find it via the link in their bio ✌#fashionrevolution#workerdiaries
